Mean Girls?

frog thinking
There has been a lot  of coverage in the news media about mean girls. I am a very disturbed by that. I wonder if it is fair to blame the issue of meanness on just girls. .....I see a great deal of meanness all over the planet right now. I see women and girls being brutally assaulted. I also see men and boys being brutalized. So what is going on.

Walking on Land- Charlie after FHO surgery

Charlie Healing
We have a  handsome 19 month old golden retriever named Charlie.  He is an awesome dog. He recently had surgery for hip dysplasia . He was very young to display these symptoms and we are grateful to his trainer, Kristian Hammermueller Trainer ,  who identified his inability to jump into the car as hip dysplasia.  We were so reluctant to go through with the surgery for so many reasons. We did it on February 12th and he is healing really well.
There were a few things that were extremely helpful to us for both pre and post surgery that might be of use and interest to others.

Walking Under Water

cow vision

This three minute film Ocean Gravity. is astounding. Perhaps, we all have an opportunity to wake up to our freedom and it is  simply waiting for us :>)

Stop, Wakeup and Love Yourself Again

Self love
Are there times that you would simply like to run away?
Would you prefer to stay under the covers rather than wake up in the morning?
Are you more excited about your dreams than what is actually happening in your life?

Layering to Happiness

I have been thinking quite a bit about the caretaker v. nurturer post.
frog business
It stirs up a lot of questions for me. How do I determine when enough is enough or I like taking care of others or I like things the way they are. Or I don't know....

One of the easiest three word statements to make is "I don't know".  Perhaps, it is a cop out that protects us from looking for our personal truth or we  simply don't want to take the time.  Or perhaps it means I don't know if I want to tell you.

Caretakers v. Nurturers

Fairy Mouse
The biggest thing that I have learned on my spiritual retreat is the difference between being a caretaker and a nurturer. Like most women, I have been encouraged to take care of everyone around me. I remember doing this even as a young child. If I knew that something would make my family and friends feel better, I would generally do it for them without being asked. However, both men and women, have assumed the caretaker role for ages. We may do it in different ways.......

A caretaker  takes care of others.
A Nurturer takes care of oneself.

Tomorrow Can Have Nothing to do with Yesterday

Bird Dreams
What if we can reconfigure our lives without having to rely on the constraints of yesterday? What if everything that we believed to be true is no longer true. Having lived through  so many changes since the 1950's, I can definitely tell you that yesterday does not have to define tomorrow.......
