Sacred Recipe- Berbere Spice

Hanging On
This is a followup to the blog post about the movie Sacred Science. The Movie Link
If you have not watched it yet, there is still time. Many of you have watched it already and enjoyed it.
We are all on a healing journey whether we know it or not.  Often it is a more enlightening journey if we are conscious of where we might be going.

Along with the movie, I  bought  the Sacred Cook book. For a recipe to be included in the The Sacred Cook Book, it has to be at least 500 years old, delicious, medicinally helpful and  held sacred. This spice blend originates in Ethiopia and Eritrea and is often used in soups and stews.  I have used it in several dishes already and it is delicious and fragrant.

Berbere Spice Recipe
 Adapted from the recipe – P 106

½ tsp gr. Fenugreek seeds
½ cup ground dried chiles
¼ cup paprika
1 tbl sea salt
1 tsp gr. Ginger
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp gr. Cardamom
½ tsp gr. Coriander
¼ tsp gr. Nutmeg
¼ tsp granulated Garlic
1/8 tsp gr. Cloves
1/8 tsp gr. cinnamon

Simply combine all of the ingredients in a small bow and mix together with a fork.
