New Kids and the Millenials

As a follow up to my last blog, I would like to list some characteristics that seem  to be descriptive  of many of the children and young adults under the age of 25.
Horsefly

They appear to be wiser than their young years.
They often tell the truth whether anyone will listen to them or not.

They often do not fit in to the school system.
They usually are highly aware  and often sensitive to their environment.
They are very curious and tend to want to learn everything that they can.
They are very intense.
They like to tell you if you are wrong.
Respect must be earned.
They often think outside of the box.
They do not respond well to guilt but will use guilt if it works with others.
They express anger outwardly and may have trouble with rage.

I have been noticing this pattern for many years now and it is only getting clearer as these kids turn into adults. They are now the millennial generation and they are beginning to make a real difference in our world . In my practice, I love working with these  teens and young adults. If you have them in your lives, you are very fortunate. Please take the time to listen to what they have to say.

  1. You are making me think. Interesting in light of the current entitlement debate going on.
